Poundsgyro is a neighborhood Mediterranean kitchen built on one belief — that fast food can still be made the slow way, by hand, over fire.
How it started
Side-street flavor, brought home.
We grew up around the shawarma spits and charcoal grills of the Eastern Mediterranean — the smell of cumin and garlic drifting down the block, meat carved straight off the spit into warm bread. When we opened on Laurel Canyon, we wanted to bottle exactly that feeling.
So we marinate everything in-house, grill over real charcoal, and never let the rice sit. No shortcuts, no freezer-to-fryer — just the food we'd want to eat ourselves, served fast enough to grab on a lunch break.

What we stand on

Charcoal, always
Real fire, real char. It's slower and messier than a flat-top — and it's the whole difference in taste.
Marinated in-house
Our spice blends and marinades are made on-site, never bought in. The beef, chicken and lamb soak before they ever hit the grill.
Fresh, not fast-frozen
Rice cooked through the day, produce cut fresh, nothing reheated. If it's not ready, we make it ready.
